Overview
The Customer Service Bureau is the City of AI's general-assistance office. If you do not know which department handles your question, start here. The Bureau also operates the citywide 311 line, online bill pay, and the Civic Hall information desk.
What we do
- Route your request — call (207) 555-2489 or chat with us online; we will connect you to the right department
- Online bill pay — utilities, parking notices, license renewals, permit fees
- Information desk — staffed at Civic Hall main lobby and at the Hopper Library
- Translation and ASL — free, available on demand for any city service
Payment options
- Online — credit/debit, ACH bank transfer, or Apple/Google Pay through the resident portal
- In person — Civic Hall main lobby kiosks (cash, check, card) Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- By phone — call (207) 555-2489 Monday – Friday; secure card payment available
- By mail — make checks payable to "City of AI"; include account or notice number
- AutoPay — set up automatic monthly debit through the resident portal
The Bureau accepts payments on behalf of Public Utilities, Municipal Court, Permit Central, and Parks and Recreation league fees.
Languages
Bureau staff routinely handle service in English, French (including Acadian French), Spanish, Somali, and Khmer. Other languages and ASL are available within 5 minutes through Language Line.
