Transportation and Streets

Streets, signals, transit, and bike/scooter mobility — for residents, riders, and businesses.

Overview

Transportation and Streets maintains the City of AI's 612 lane-miles of roadway, 2,310 streetlights, 187 signalized intersections, and the public transit operating contract with the Pemaquid Reach Mobility District.

Submit a service request

Use the online Report a Problem form, or call (207) 555-7623. Common request types:

  • Pothole repair — patched within 5 business days (sooner for arterials)
  • Streetlight outage — replaced within 10 business days
  • Sign down or damaged — replaced within 3 business days
  • Crosswalk repaint — added to the next quarterly repaint cycle
  • Pedestrian-signal timing — engineering review within 21 days

Requesting a new stoplight or stop sign

Residents may request a traffic-control study at any intersection. Submit through the request form or write to streets@cityofaime.com. A traffic engineer will conduct a 7-day count and crash-history review. Stop-sign installation is approved administratively when warranted; new stoplights require council approval and capital budget appropriation.
