Library hours, branches, events, and the citywide research desk.

Overview

The Library and Learning Network is the City of AI's free public library system. The system includes the central Hopper Library, three branches, two storefront learning kiosks, and the bookmobile.

Library hours

  • Hopper Library (central) — Mon–Thu 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Fri–Sat 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sun 1 – 5 p.m.
  • Stillwater Hollow Branch — Mon, Wed, Fri 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Tue, Thu 12 – 8 p.m.; Sat 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Granite Ridge Branch — Mon–Sat 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (closed Sunday)
  • Heron Bay Branch — Tue, Thu, Sat 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Bookmobile — rotating sites Tue – Sat; schedule posted on the city calendar

  • Tide and Time storytime — Hopper Library, Saturdays 10:30 a.m. (ages 2–6)
  • Conversation Circle (English & Acadian French) — Stillwater Hollow Branch, Wednesdays 6:00 p.m.

Devices, lending, and the research desk

  • Books, audiobooks, large print, and music — three-week loan with two renewals
  • Wi-Fi hotspots and Chromebooks — three-week loan, one renewal
  • Microscopes, GPS units, telescopes, and metal detectors — one-week loan from the Maker desk
  • Citywide research desk — chat, phone, or in person; specialists in Maine history, business research, and legal forms
