City Council

Nine members, one per district, set citywide policy and approve the budget.

About the Council

The City of AI City Council is a non-partisan body of nine members, one from each council district. The Council adopts ordinances, approves the annual city budget, confirms department directors nominated by the Mayor, and represents the public interest in setting citywide policy. Council meetings are held in the Civic Hall Chambers on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and are streamed at the city calendar.

Public comment

Residents may sign up for public comment at any regular Council meeting. Sign-up opens 30 minutes before the meeting in person at Civic Hall or online via the agenda link on the city calendar. Each speaker is allotted three minutes. Written comment may be emailed to council@cityofaime.com.
